THE NORTH REACH 2022 KITE REVIEW
If you are thinking to buy a North Reach 2022, I think this review will be useful for you. My name is Petar Pavlovic and today I would like to share with you my riding experience with the Reach 2022.
I bought a 9m, a 12m and a 15m Reach. I am now in Greece, in Lefkada and the wind is hardly blowing over 20 knots since I arrived. Therefore I only managed to ride with the 12m and 15m Reach for now.
I have been riding both kites in different conditions and for all of you who have been riding the Reach 2021 I can immediately tell you that the 2022 to me already seems a lot faster and much lighter on the bar.
THE 12 METER NORTH REACH KITE REVIEW
The 12m I tested for relaunching in deep water, onshore wind with 10 knots and with a bit of patience I managed to relaunch it.
With 12 to 13 knots wind, I still didn’t feel any pressure on the bar. I didn’t really believe I will be able to kite, as I’m 80kg and using the Atmos Carbon 136 board. But surprisingly I was easily riding. It’s also strange that I had the bar fully pulled in most of the time, but the kite was never back stalling.
I was not able to jump but I was easily doing small pops with rotations.
Then on 15, 16 knots the kite was perfect for me. Even for jumping with a surf board which I never managed before with any 12m kites.
The reach 12m feels so good, if I didn’t know what size I’m kiting with I would say that it is a 9m. So fast in loops.
18 knots felt great for a little big air session!
As the kite is super fast, I decided to go for a proper kiteloop. I would never do it with any other 12m kite. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to recover the kite but it was quite close. I believe I would land it easily on 20, 22 knots.
THE 15 METER NORTH REACH KITE REVIEW
The 15m Reach 2021 honestly was not my favorite kite. It was definitely good to ride in light wind, had lots of power but even when I had lots of power I could not jump properly and the loops were quite slow.
However the 15m Reach 2022 is a different story! I tested it on super light wind 10 to 12 knots, with a Prime 148cm board. I was easily going upwind and doing some easy moves.
On a wind of 14 to 17 knots it was just perfect! Super good for jumping. Doing long hand drags. Unfortunately I was not able to test these two kites on super gusty wind yet but for now they feel super stable and responsive.
Amazing free ride kites that I would recommend for every level of kitesurfer. From beginners to super advanced riders.
I didn’t test it in the waves yet, but it feels like they could work quite well.
THE 9 METER NORTH REACH KITE REVIEW
I will soon give you a review of the 9m Reach 2022, once I arrive in Naxos to make a proper big air session on a super gusty wind.
